Planning and Constructing Effective Timetables: A Hands On Course

Course Overview A well-constructed school timetable is integral to the successful delivery of a school’s curriculum and its students’ success. In this course we will explore • What makes a well-planned and efficient timetable • Ensuring your timetable is affordable • Optimising available resources • Deploying teachers efficiently and effectively. • Techniques for constructing and scheduling the timetable. This course will take you through the whole timetabling process from designing the curriculum, costing the model, deploying resources, scheduling the classes (including discussing strategies to solve problems when they occur) to deploying the school timetable. You will learn from experienced timetablers who will support you in your journey. By the end of the course you should be confident and skilled enough to apply the techniques covered in your own school. Course is free to schools in Liverpool but available to other schools by arrangement. Second day is 22 May 2026
